The Electroboat ASAIR AM2301 (also commonly known as DHT21) is a high-performance, composite digital temperature and relative humidity sensor probe. Designed for reliability and stability, it integrates a capacitive polymer humidity element and an NTC thermistor coupled to a high-speed 8-bit microcontroller inside a protective molded housing.

Each AM2301 sensor is individually calibrated in a precision humidity chamber, with calibration coefficients stored permanently in internal OTP memory. Using a single-bus digital communication protocol, it transmits noise-immune 40-bit data packages over wire distances up to 20 meters without signal degradation. The rugged casing protects internal components against ambient dust and physical impact, making it suitable for HVAC, greenhouse automation, and outdoor weather telemetry.

How to Use

Wire Identification:
- Red: $V_{CC}$ (Connect to 3.3V or 5V Power)
- Black / Yellow: $GND$ (Connect to Ground)
- Yellow / White: $DATA$ (Connect to Digital I/O pin on Microcontroller)
Pull-Up Resistor: Connect a 4.7k$Omega$ to 10k$Omega$ pull-up resistor between the $DATA$ line and $V_{CC}$ for reliable long-cable communication.
Microcontroller Code: Use standard DHT library frameworks (such as the DHT.h library set to type DHT21 or AM2301 in Arduino IDE) to read temperature and humidity values every 2 seconds.
