CD74HC4067 High-Speed CMOS 16-Channel Analog/Digital Multiplexer Breakout Module
Expand your microcontroller's input and output capabilities effortlessly with the Electroboat CD74HC4067 16-Channel Analog/Digital Multiplexer Breakout Board. Operating like an electronic 16-position rotary switch, this module routes a single signal line (SIG) to any of 16 individual channels using just 4 digital selection pins (S0–S3). Because internal switches are bidirectional, it handles both analog sensor inputs and digital communication signals in either direction across a 2V to 6V DC operating range.

The Electroboat CD74HC4067 Breakout Board mounts Texas Instruments' high-speed CMOS 16-channel analog multiplexer/demultiplexer IC. Designed to solve pin-limitation challenges on microcontrollers like Arduino, ESP32, and Raspberry Pi, this module allows a single ADC pin or digital I/O pin to communicate with up to 16 external sensors or actuators.
The onboard switches feature low "ON" resistance (~70 Ω at 4.5V) and "break-before-make" timing to prevent channel crosstalk during transitions. It is fully bidirectional, enabling it to route signals from 16 sensors to 1 microcontroller input pin, or conversely, route 1 control signal output to 1 of 16 targets. It also breaks out an active-low Enable (EN) pin to completely disconnect all channels when pulled HIGH.
Key Features and Benefits
-
16-to-1 I/O Multiplexing: Reads up to 16 analog or digital inputs using only 5 microcontroller pins (1 Signal + 4 Address).
-
True Bidirectional Operation: Works both as a multiplexer (16 inputs to 1 output) and demultiplexer (1 input to 16 outputs).
-
Wide Operating Voltage (2V–6V): Fully compatible with both 3.3V and 5V microcontrollers (ESP32, STM32, Arduino, Raspberry Pi).
-
Low Resistance & Break-Before-Make: Low ~70 Ω ON-resistance minimizes signal loss and 6 ns transition delay prevents crosstalk.
-
Active-LOW Enable Pin: Dedicated
ENpin allows disabling all 16 channels simultaneously for power saving or chip selection in cascaded setups.
