The Electroboat MCU-758 ACS758LCB-050B-PFF-T Hall Effect Current Sensor Module provides an economical and precise solution for high-current AC and DC sensing in industrial, commercial, and DIY power electronics applications. Powered by Allegro MicroSystems' ACS758 sensor IC, this module uses a monolithic Hall IC circuit to measure magnetic fields generated by current flowing through its primary copper conduction path.
Capable of measuring bidirectional currents up to ±50A, the onboard primary conductor features an extremely low resistance of approximately 100 µΩ, keeping power loss and internal thermal heating to an absolute minimum. The primary current path is electrically isolated from the sensor electronics (up to 3000 Vrms), eliminating the need for expensive opto-isolators when interfacing high-voltage circuits directly with microcontrollers such as Arduino, ESP32, STM32, or Raspberry Pi.
Key Features and Benefits
-
Bidirectional ±50A Current Sensing: Accurately measures both AC and DC positive and negative current flow.
-
High Galvanic Isolation (3000 Vrms): Fully isolates the primary high-current path from low-voltage microcontroller logic for maximum circuit safety.
-
Ultra-Low Conductor Resistance (100 µΩ): Minimizes power dissipation, voltage drops, and thermal heating during continuous high-load operation.
-
Factory-Calibrated Sensitivity (40 mV/A): Delivers a proportional analog output voltage centered at VCC/2 (2.5V at 0A) for straightforward ADC sampling.
-
Integrated Noise Filtering: Built-in filter capacitor pins allow easy bandwidth tuning to suppress output ripple and electrical noise.

How to Use
-
Connect Power Supply: Connect
VCCto 5V DC andGNDto your microcontroller's ground. -
Connect Primary Load: Pass the high-current line you wish to measure through the thick primary current terminal pins (
IP+andIP-). -
Connect Signal Output: Wire the
OUTterminal pin to an analog input pin (ADC) on your Arduino or ESP32 board. -
Calculate Current in Code:
-
At 0 Amps, the output voltage is approximately 2.5V (VCC/2).
-
Calculate current using: Current (A)=0.040V/AVOUT−2.5V.
