As the water level rises or falls inside a storage tank or sump, the floating casing tilts past its mechanical pivot angle. The internal steel ball shifts position, triggering the microswitch to either open or close the electrical circuit. The included adjustable counterweight clips onto the 2-meter cable, allowing operators to set precise differential switching heights between pump turn-on and turn-off levels. SAFETY & CONTACTOR ADVISORY: For single-phase pumps rated above $1\text{ HP}$ or 3-phase industrial pumps, ALWAYS use the float switch to trigger an intermediate AC magnetic contactor or motor starter rather than connecting the pump directly through the float switch contacts.
