How to Use & Wiring Strategy

1. The quality of your data depends directly on the mechanical bond. The target surface must be sanded perfectly smooth, degreased with isopropyl alcohol, and bonded using a ultra-thin, uniform layer of high-strength cyanoacrylate (or specialized strain gauge glue).

2. Because the resistance changes are incredibly small (Δ  R is typically in milliohms), you cannot read a raw strain gauge directly with an ordinary Arduino ADC pin. You must configure the gauge within a Wheatstone Bridge circuit and feed the output into a dedicated instrumentation amplifier, such as an HX711 24-bit ADC chip, to translate the signal into usable digital data.

Standard Wheatstone Bridge Quarter-Bridge Layout:

To accurately measure a single BF350-3AA gauge, embed it in a classic Quarter-Bridge layout using three stable, static 350 Ω metal-film resistors:
